THERESA ANDERSSON

Theresa Andersson was born in Gotland, Sweden. When she turned 18 she followed her boyfriend Anders Osborne to New Orleans in 1990 to play violin in his band. Her first album Vibes came out in 1996. It was produced by her still boyfriend at the time Anders and was more of a jazz flavor. Not long after Theresa and Anders went their separate ways. In 2000 she released her self titled album. Her sound was picking up more influences from her adopted hometown and moving towards an Amerciana style. In 2002 she released No Regrets and 2004 Shine came out. Katrina interrupted the recording of her next album and in 2006 she released what had been completed so far as Theresa Andersson The EP. Her next music was another ep called I the River. Her most recent album was Hummingbird, Go! a collection that brought her back to her roots from Sweden and her love for the musical sounds she had absorbed in New Orleans. For this album she recorded it as a one woman band and took the format on the road, using computers and loops to add to her violin, guitar and banjo. In 2010 she filmed her one woman band performance at the New Orleans theater Le Petit and released it as "Live at the Le Petit." Recently she took time off to have a baby and is now back in the studio recording new music.
